The Abfall-Verwertungsgesellschaft Hamburg (AVG) operates one of the most modern and highest-throughput hazardous waste incinerators in Germany, with an annual capacity of around 100,000 tonnes. HanseProject took on an extensive modernisation project as general contractor.

In addition to the full renovation of the administration and ancillary buildings, including the sanitary facilities, changing rooms and workshop offices, the canteen was also completely redesigned.

A newly built information point is the first port of call for delegations, where they can get information about the facility and also receive safety training.

A specially designed guidance system makes it easier to find your way around the entire site. In addition to a clear and appealing design, Dominik Theim’s proposal deliberately focuses on materials and furniture with a high load-bearing capacity and utility class in order to achieve a long service life.
